Terms and Conditions

  1. Battledown Brewery will not sell alcohol to anyone who is under the age of 18 years old. By placing a home delivery beer order you confirm that you are at least 18 years old.
  2. If our couriers are in any doubt about the age of the recipient on delivery, they will request some form of ID. If the person receiving the beer in a box is unable to produce appropriate ID our couriers will be unable to leave the delivery.
  3. It is your responsibility to ensure that an adult over the age of 18 is at the delivery address to sign for receipt of the polypins. In the event of no one is available to sign for the mail order beers, our couriers will leave a card advising that the home delivery beer has been unsuccessful. The card will describe the steps you need to take to arrange for the beer to home to be re-delivered. It is your responsibility to ensure someone is available to sign for the goods upon re-delivery. The re-delivery process can be undertaken twice only,after which our couriers are instructed to return the goods to the relevant brewery. When this happens, please contact us to arrange a new shipment. This new beer home delivery arrangement will, however, incur a further delivery charge.
  4. We shall not be liable for any delay in your beer home delivery if that delay or failure is caused by circumstances beyond our control.
  5. It is our policy to ensure that all our beer home delivery goods are supplied to our customers in perfect condition and that every possible precaution is taken to protect the integrity of the product that is sold. Therefore it is our policy that we can not exchange any item once delivered.
  6. Whilst every effort is made to supply all items listed on this website, there are instances where this may not be possible. In these cases we shall offer a substitute product with the same or greater value. You are within your rights to decline any substitutes offered.
  7. We aim to ensure that the prices shown on our online shop are correct. In the event an error does occur, we will make every effort to contact you to confirm if you would like to proceed with the order at the correct price.
  8. Battledown Brewery as a supplier shall not be held liable or responsible for any individual or business for any damage or loss which may have occurred from the use of any product or information contained on this website.
  9. Your signature at the point of delivery acknowledges receipt of the goods. Please ensure that you are available to receive your mail order beers on the day of delivery. Goods will not be left with neighbours unless by prior arrangement and no goods will be left with minors.
  10. Deliveries are made to UK mainland addresses only
  11. We cannot accept responsibility for failure of an order to arrive if you provide an incorrect address or postal code.
  12. We try very hard to dispatch orders on or before the date we estimate during the checkout process, but we cannot guarantee delivery on a particular date
  13. In the event that your beer in a box is damaged in transit, please contact us within 24 hours of receipt. Mail order beers received by courier should be checked before being signed for. If the packaging or the products are found to be damaged, you must then sign, "checked and found to be damaged".We may not be able to offer a refund if you fail to do this.
  14. For products sent by Royal Mail and where we have proof of posting, we cannot accept responsibility for non-delivery. We may consider claims on a discretionary basis.
  15. All prices are quoted in pounds sterling. The prices include VAT (Value Added Tax at the current rate).
  16. Although we believe you will be pleased with your beer by post order, there may be occasions where you feel it necessary to return your beer polypins. We accept returns and give refunds where the goods have not been opened or damaged. Shipping costs back to the relevant brewery are normally at your expense (except where the goods do not comply with statutory requirements) and we can only credit you upon safe receipt and inspection of the goods into the relevant brewery. All refunds will be paid as soon as possible within 30 days of you contacting us, provided our courier has picked up the beer. If bottles are broken or damaged in transit to you, the damaged goods must be returned to the relevant brewery. Shipping costs for the damaged portion of the delivery back to us is at our expense - customers must contact us to arrange the return shipping. Upon receipt of your beer shop order, you should carefully inspect it to make sure that it is intact and in full. The courier must be informed of breakages or shortages at the time of delivery. We will not accept any claims for breakages or shortages unless they are stated on the courier's documentation. We must have confirmation of these breakages or shortages within 7 days of the delivery.
  17. Goods that are no longer wanted must be returned within 7 days of the original delivery of your order. Any costs associated with returning unwanted polypins are at your expense - we recommend that you contact us about the shipping to help reduce the cost, we can only credit you upon safe receipt and inspection of the products into the relevant brewery. It is not our normal policy to accept returns or to agree to give full refunds you must contact us before making any arrangements. In the rare and exceptional circumstances we do so agree, it will be entirely at our own discretion, and must include return of products that have not been opened or damaged.
  18. We shall not be liable to pay any compensation to you, other than any refund as provided above. In particular, but without limitation, we shall not be liable to you for loss of profit, damage to goodwill, or any indirect or consequential loss or damage arising out of any damage, defect, negligence or other failing on our part, unless (a) you have expressly made us aware in writing of the nature and extend of the loss or damage which you may suffer in such situation, and (b) we have expressly confirmed in writing that we accept liability for such matters.
  19. When you place an order, we need to obtain: your name (and delivery name if different), email address, billing address (and delivery address if different), contact 'phone number, credit card number and expiry date (Switch cards also require an issue number). This information enables us to accurately process and fulfil your order, and to confirm your order by email. We may record which products you are interested in and which products you purchase.
  20. No compensation can be offered for loss of wages due to failed beer UK delivery.
  21. We reserve the right to amend or add to these terms and conditions. It is your responsibility to check for any changes. Your continued use of this site will constitute your acceptance of the changes to these terms.
